CALHTV - The Return
CALHTV was an experimental TV studio at Campus A Low Hum 2011 which broadcast throughout the site, it seemed the natural progression from the low-power FM station we'd run at Camp in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
I am bringing this concept back for Camp A Low Hum 2027!
In 2011 it was primarily a interview and chat show format, with music video shows. But for 2027, anything goes on CALHTV. Want to do an interview? Record your podcast live? Try stand-up comedy? Stage a 10-minute sitcom? Make a cooking show, lecture, exercise routine, short film, or rant? Powerpoint presentation? Slide show of your holiday? Organise a workshop, chat show, or performance art piece?
You can also choose to host a music video show (we'll have a huge archive of music videos you can pick from). I'll have a link here you can link videos to in 2026 and we'll download them and have them in the archive.
We’ll record and broadcast your segment during Camp. Six months later, I’ll curate highlights and we’ll gather online as a community to watch together with a live chat on the Discord, just like A Tasteful Amount of Chaos. I’ve also set up some forums on the Discord where you can discuss ideas, find collaborators, and plan your show.
Like the renegade shows, CALHTV slots will be pre-bookable (I'll post a link for this in 2026). Your show description can appear in the Camp booklet, but you won’t be able to lock in your time slot until you arrive. To grab your ideal spot, aim to be there Thursday evening or early Friday morning.
Any idea is welcome as long as it doesn't harm or cause overt offence to attendees. The only thing that we'll be limiting the bookings of are live musical performances. I don't want the TV studio to simply turn into a second "renegade stage". Musical performances will be possible, though it is likely these will be curated and/or, bookable at the event (not in advance)
