Seeing how much this Camp meant to people, the bands and the entire community was very emotional - the messages I've received from people of their life-changing experiences has me humbled. At the time when I announced Camp and said "let's do this one last time", I did mean it :). There was a massive driving force for this Camp - an energy that has kicked off a three year run of projects I'm passionate about. (Read the next section of this email to understand why I did Camp)

My existing plans and how long this takes to put together means there can’t be a Camp in 2025, or 2026. After that...?

I fucking love Camp, the crew who work it love it, but doing a Camp is really, really difficult.

Most of my time organising Camp is spent trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. I have to constantly find ways of shaving off costs while making sure that the event still rules. Working with no booze sales, no sponsorship, limiting the numbers of people and having it be financially viable means long hours and calling on very talented friends to help me out.

Camp happens because bands and crew working it believe in its core values and the spirit it brings. If you saw me wearing sunglasses that first weekend it wasn’t because of the sun, it was that I couldn’t stop getting emotional at how many amazing people still believed in this project. Anytime I tried to talk to anybody I got choked up.

I saw how much Camp meant to everybody. I know how much it means to me, and I see how badly more events like this are needed to bring people together in celebration without commercialisation.
